Terms of Use
Effective date: July 29, 2026
These terms govern your use of DevReins: the downloadable early-access viewer app, any hosted relay service operated by DevReins, and the devreins.ai website. By using DevReins you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the product.
License
DevReins currently distributes an installable build; its source repository is not public. A future source-available release and its license remain product decisions. Until a license is actually published, no right to copy, modify, redistribute, or offer the software as a service is granted except as required by applicable law or agreed in writing.
In plain English: you may install and use the early-access build for its intended purpose. Do not resell it, redistribute it, or offer a competing hosted service using the DevReins name or code without written permission.
No warranty
In particular: DevReins grants access to your dev machine over the network. You are responsible for choosing a strong authentication token and keeping it secret. We are not liable for any unauthorised access that results from a weak or exposed token.
Hosted relay fair-use
The DevReins relay is live and included free during early access; no payment is taken today. Continued managed connectivity is planned for a paid tier after early access, but final packaging may change. The relay forwards encrypted session payloads between your phone and your dev machine. Fair-use limits apply:
- The relay is for individual developer use only, not for serving public internet traffic.
- Don't use the relay to proxy malicious content, illegal material, or to abuse third-party services.
- Sustained bandwidth above 10 Mbps average may be rate-limited. Normal coding use is well within this.
- We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the relay after notice.
Connectivity responsibilities
DevReins routes traffic from your phone to your dev machine through the DevReins relay (your machine connects outbound; session payloads are encrypted before relay forwarding) or, optionally, over a tunnel you configure yourself. You are solely responsible for:
- What runs on your dev machine and is exposed through the relay or any tunnel you configure.
- Ensuring any dev servers you expose do not inadvertently serve sensitive data to the internet.
- Compliance with your employer's security policy if you use DevReins on work machines.
- The tunnel provider's own terms of service if you bring your own tunnel (e.g. cloudflared).
Acceptable use
Don't use DevReins to:
- Gain unauthorised access to any system or network.
- Distribute malware, spam, or illegal content.
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Circumvent any security or access control of a third-party service.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DevReins and Eric Rosenfeld are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the product (including loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption) even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website and noted with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
