Terms of Use
Effective date: May 14, 2026
These terms govern your use of DevReins - the source-available viewer app, any hosted relay service operated by DevReins, and the devreins.ai website. By using DevReins you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the product.
License
DevReins's source code is planned to be released as source-available under the Functional Source License (FSL). The public repository opens at v1.x launch (tracked as T4.3). Until then, code review is available by request - email support@devreins.ai. Once published you will be able to read, fork, and self-host it for personal or internal use at no charge. The full licence text will be published in the public repository at launch.
In plain English: you can run it yourself and modify it for your own use. You may not resell it or offer a competing hosted service using the DevReins name or code without written permission.
No warranty
In particular: DevReins grants access to your dev machine over the network. You are responsible for choosing a strong authentication token and keeping it secret. We are not liable for any unauthorised access that results from a weak or exposed token.
Hosted relay fair-use (Pro, planned for v1.1)
The managed relay and Pro tier are not yet live in v1.0; no payment is taken today. When the managed relay launches in v1.1, Pro subscribers will get a relay connection that proxies traffic between their phone and their dev machine. Fair-use limits will apply:
- The relay is for individual developer use only - not for serving public internet traffic.
- Don't use the relay to proxy malicious content, illegal material, or to abuse third-party services.
- Sustained bandwidth above 10 Mbps average may be rate-limited. Normal coding use is well within this.
- We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the relay after notice.
Cellular tunnelling responsibilities
DevReins routes traffic from your phone to your dev machine over a cloudflared tunnel you configure yourself (a managed relay is planned for v1.1). You are solely responsible for:
- What runs on your dev machine and is exposed through the tunnel.
- Ensuring any dev servers you expose do not inadvertently serve sensitive data to the internet.
- Compliance with your employer's security policy if you use DevReins on work machines.
- Cloudflare's own terms of service when using cloudflared.
Acceptable use
Don't use DevReins to:
- Gain unauthorised access to any system or network.
- Distribute malware, spam, or illegal content.
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Circumvent any security or access control of a third-party service.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DevReins and Eric Rosenfeld are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the product - including loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption - even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website and noted with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
